What are fillers?

Fillers are materials used to enhance and increase volume where our body has lost it overtime. Most of the fillers are hyaluronic acid based or HA based. HA molecules are normally found in our skin and help provide us with volume. In addition, they attract water molecules giving them more volume than their actual weight. There are numerous HA fillers on the market the most common of which are Juvederm and Restalyne and each one has different properties. During your consultation Dr Rayess will discuss with you what your goals are and then will pick the appropriate filler with their appropriate properties to help achieve your goal.
What is better Botox or Fillers?
Botox and filler are 2 different treatments although people commonly get them together as they are non surgical treatments that can be done easily in the office over lunch time. Botox is a chemical that paralyzes muscles and is good for treating superficial wrinkles in between the eyebrows, in the foreheads and around the eyes. Filler is a thick material that is used to replace volume that is lost and help smoothen contour irregularities like around your mouth and around your jaw as you age. They are 2 different treatments, both can be done at the same time.
How often should you get dermal fillers?

In the lips filler tends to last 6-8 months because that part of the body is highly mobile so will be broken down by your body faster. What is the down time?
There really is no downtime you can go back to your normal routine afterwards. We just ask that you avoid strenuous activity for that day to decrease the likelihood of swelling. We do our best to prevent swelling and bruising but it can still occur so you have to be prepared for that. Avoiding medications like aspirin ibuprofen and certain vitamins that thin your blood will decreases the chance of you bruising.
What is the process of getting fillers?
It is actually a very easy process you will come in on your consultation where you will discuss your aims and your concerns with doctor rayas you'll come up with a plan then that you both agree to. After that we will ask you to clean your face from any makeup or or skin products. We will then apply topical numbing medication for about 15 to 20 minutes. And then perform the injection.
Are fillers bad for you long term?
The long term risks of fillers are minimal. Dr Rayess completed one of the most thorough analyses of complications of filler and his study was featured by Reuters, CNN and WebMd. Some of the long term complications that you should be aware of are chronic inflammatory reactions that are rare. There is no negative consequence to not doing filler. LIP FILLER IN TAMPA
The Lip is one of the most common areas that Dr Rayess injects with filler. When injecting lips Dr Rayess aims to give you a subtle and natural enhancement. Filler can increase the volume of your red lip and provide subtle eversion. The entire process takes about 30-45 minutes. We will initially remove any products you have on your lips and then apply a topical numbing medication that will make your lips feel numb.
